5 Photos 5 Days: Day 2

Silvia Villalobos tagged me for this fun, short challenge. Be sure to check her 5 photos, too!

The theme of my five pictures is “A Glimpse into My Life.” Hope you enjoy! Feel free to leave a comment or ask me any questions.

I love to garden. It gets me outdoors; it’s relaxing and meditative. I do a lot of thinking while gardening, either about my stories or other things going on in my life.

We’re in a severe drought here in California, but I decided to still have my garden. The pots and barrels seem to work pretty well, and the water is direct, so there’s no waste. Still, I’m careful, and the veggies aren’t doing as well in previous years. They’re predicting a rainy winter, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that!

Backyard

This is our small but enjoyable backyard where we hang out, barbecue, generally relax!

Sideyard

This is the side of the house. It gets very hot here so it’s a perfect place to grow tomatoes, eggplant, basil, and peppers. Along the side, in the smaller pots, is my herb garden.

Do you garden, or have another hobby that you enjoy?

I nominate Jen Weber for the 5 Photos 5 Days challenge. See her blog here, and while you’re there, check out her AMAZING pictures and essays about her recent trip to Africa!

Jen, no obligation, of course, only if possible, and here are the rules:

1) post a photo (photos) each day for 5 consecutive days; 2) attach a story to the photo. It can be fiction, non-fiction, poetry, a paragraph – all entirely up to you; 3) nominate another blogger to carry on the challenge. Your nominee is free to accept or decline the invitation! More importantly, have fun.

I love seeing gardens and outdoor living space, and imagining hanging out there. It looks very comfortable 😊

  2. Beautiful garden, Linda. I hear you about being able to think outdoors, particularly while in your yard. So relaxing. I do that a lot, also when on long walks. Love, love the outdoors … too bad it’s a bit hot these days. 🙂 Thank you. I enjoy your photos and posts.

Today was actually overcast and chilly. We never know from one day to the next what the weather will be. We’ve had some unusually hot days. I’ve seen your love of outdoors in your blog posts! 🙂 Thanks for your comment!
