Things Are Heating Up!

I’m really getting excited. My release of Yakimali’s Gift is 2-1/2 weeks away.

I found some great “swag” for my giveaways, which I’ll announce when I get them scheduled. I found some butterfly-themed gifts (“Yakimali” means “butterfly” in the Pima language) from Pugster, Etsy (the item I found actually shipped from Art Studio 54), and Forever 21. I also ordered some totes from Vistaprint with my cover imprinted on one side and a pretty butterfly design on the other. It’s easy to get carried away, getting caught up in the excitement of buying giveaway gifts! So I was a good shopper and found items that are nice quality but very reasonably priced.

I also created my Facebook “Fan” or Author page. It was fairly easy to do with the help of this blog that gets you through the basic steps.

However, this in-depth article explains not only how to set up the Facebook page, but gives tips, hints, and links to further information.

I have many more things on my “to do” list before release day, but I’m learning a lot and having fun!

Oh, and guess what? Next week: another cover reveal!

It’s really fun–not to mention inspiring–to watch you execute your plan. You make it look easy. I’m excited for the release and for you!

I love your enthusiasm ! And the delicious decadence the word “swag” conjures 🙂

Sammy, LOL. It seems to be the common word for giveaway gifts. Don’t ask my why! Thanks for your comment. 🙂

I know – I always think of those Hollywood millionaires scarfing up their “swag” at the awards shows. Apparently it’s worth quite a bit $$$ – like in the thousands of $$$ – and came out a few years ago that they all should be claiming it as taxable income, similar to prize money but none of them were.

Oh I sure hope I don’t get any of your swag giveaways – the tax headaches it will cause me for those Manolo Blahniks 🙂

  3. Woohoo. Another cover reveal. You are rockin’, lady. Congrats and I bet this will be a loooong 2.5 weeks.

    Hallo, Hallo Ms. Covella!

*waves!* I have not had the pleasure to reply until today to your nice comment on my review of “The Tilted World” — and I remembered I had not visited your blog either! You drop by mine but I have always wanted to return the kindness. Forgive me, my hours sort of flew out the window in mid-Spring to mid-Summer this year! I wanted to ‘click through’ to read more about Yakimali’s Gift but I ended up going to VistaPrint intead? I shall see if there is a link in your top menu! And, how exciting! I have landed on your blog the week before your Cover Reveal goes live! 🙂

I noted you were in the A to Z, which might be how our paths originally crossed — I am grateful although I do not remember — too much has happened since then. I mention this as I am going to start rejuvenating my essays and posting the rest of my A to Z Alphabet in forthcoming weeks! I decided that even though I was not able to pursue the project in April it is still one that is important to me to complete. 🙂

I loved learning about your shopping for surprising readers! That is a bit of insight I have forgotten to ask authors whilst I Interview them! Thank you for inspiring a new thread of conversation! 🙂

**am reading about your lovely horse drama, a section of literature quite close to my heart!** I am going to have to follow the launch now! Wow. I love Children’s Lit, and Native American cultures!!

Hi Jorie, thanks so much for stopping by and checking out Yakimali’s Gift! Hmmm…I’ll have to check that link. This year was my first AtoZ. What a whirlwind! LOL And I agree–this year is flying by. Looking forward to staying connected with you! 🙂
